If you love Japanese food and haven\’t taken a sushi making class or a Japanese cooking class you are missing out. A couple years ago I took Central Market\’s Sushi 101 class and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I wanted to brush up on my skills and recently did some research on classes in Austin. Here are some classes offerd in the Austin area:
Central Market
Central Market has two classes currently on their calendar: Sushi 101 and Sushi No Sushi. When I took the sushi 101 class at Central Market I found it worth every penny on the amount of sushi I ate and the leftovers I brought home alone. This hands on course led by Scot Loranc covers the history of sushi, techniques, tips on buying fresh fish and you will make some of the most popular rolls and some nigiri. Cost: $65.
Central Market\’s Sushi No Sushi class is a vegetarian sushi making class. Cost: $65.
Mary Makes Dinner
Learn to cook from Austin\’s own Mary Helen. She has offered sushi classes in the past and is actively offering easy lunch Japanese lunchbox Recipes class. Cost: $25.
