Old World vs. New World Smackdown with Anthony Giglio at the Austin Food & Wine Festival had us tasting our way across the world! This was a true highlight of my festival day!
Anthony, contributing wine editor for Food and Wine Magazine, guided us through the unique flavors of Chardonnay and Syrah from the Old World and New World. From Chablis to California Chardonnay, and Rhône Valley Syrah to Washington State, he highlighted the differences in taste, structure, and terroir. We also compared a Bordeaux and a Bordeaux style wine.
With a light salty bite, anecdotes, fun wine trivia, and candor like none other, Anthony made wine tasting a true adventure. Chef Tim Love also joined the stage to share his praise on Anthony’s wine knowledge and knack for sharing it. Cheers to savoring every sip!
