We journeyed through the vineyards of Burgundy at the Austin Food & Wine Festival’s ‘The Tour of Burgundy’ with the incredible Thibaut Marquis and Louis Jadot was one of the highlights of my 2024 Austin Food & Wine Festival.
The story of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir’s birthplace, Bourgogne, unfolded with each sip. It began with its ancient soils and continued through the influence of monks.
We tasted:
Chablis
Bourgogne Blanc
Pouilly-Fuisse
Beaujolais-Villages
Bourgogne Pinot Noir
We learned the art of ‘grand cru’ designations, French oak barrels, and the interesting history of Gamay. Wine lovers, this was a taste of history, terroir, and the passion behind Burgundy’s iconic bottles. Santé! 🇫🇷
