Japanese Kaiseki with Supper Friends and Chef Jay Huang

Swoop House
Supper Friends is a collaboration from the folks behind 2 Dine 4 Fine Catering and local Austin area chefs. The dining experience is held at the charming East Austin swoop house in which is also available for event rentals.

Sitting Area
Walking the grounds you will find inviting sitting areas along with flourishing flowers and plants.
Local Artwork
The inside of the swoop house is decorated with local artwork. There are a few perfectly dressed dining tables and an open kitchen.
Mai Tais
Upon arrival guests are greeted and BYOB wine/beer are put on ice. The evening I attended we were also served a complimentary Mai Tai.
Chef Jay Huang
The open kitchen allows guests to watch the chefs in action as they prepare dishes. I attended the Japanese Kaiseki dinner which is a traditional multi-course dinner.  This evening\’s dinner was prepared by the skillful and creative Chef Jay Huang, formerly of Uchi and Trace.
Grilled Shishito Pepper

Arrive early and enjoy passed hor d\’oeuvres, sip cocktails and meet your dining companions for the evening.
Here is a look at Chef Jay\’s Japanese Kaiseki dinner from Friday June 28th (note menus change):

Grilled snapper with yuzu, peach and chard
Rich pork belly plated with creamy miso eggplant and butternut squash
Ocha zuke is a rice and mushroom dish in tea meant for cleansing the palate
