While there is no shortage of bars in Austin, we do lack in the sports bar department in the heart of downtown until now! Basecamp opened their doors this week and is serving up upscale American classics prepared by Executive Chef Eric Kuypers who is formerly of Uchi and the Peached Tortilla. Chef Eric Kuypers curated a thoughtful menu often absent in the bar scene. Another stand out is the impressive wine selection available by the glass and bottle. The cocktail menu is innovative yet approachable. The lineup of beers is impressive with 6 Texas taps and a large variety of bottled beers.

I could not get enough of these warm savory Hushpuppies with Rock Shrimp, Jalapenos and zesty Cajun Remoulade.

The Pulled Pork Tacos are stuffed with incredibly tender flavorful pulled pork with a refreshing cilantro slaw and tomatillo salsa.
|Minor League Burger at Basecamp|
The burgers are ridiculously good at Basecamp! We ordered the Minor League Burger medium rare and we were delivered a perfectly cooked majestic burger topped with delicious melted cheese on a poppy seed Kaiser roll. Their crisp golden fries served with aioli are equally delicious.
I am also happy to see healthy options yet enticing options like their fresh Kale Salad with fresh organic kale, a creamy smoked Texas chevre, citrus, hazelnuts and a brightly flavored citrus vinaigrette.
