Il Brutto is an East Austin gem that opened in March of 2018, just in time for SXSW. Since then they have been earning rave reviews. I have been eying up their Instagram feed filled with crisp pizze, mouthwatering cheese & meat boards, gorgeous pastas, decadent desserts and that dreamy patio… So when I was invited by my favorite bruncher @atxbrunches to try out their newly launched brunch menu, I couldn\’t pass it up!

Brunch service is both Saturday and Sundays and is not to be missed! We found the perfect shaded table on their stunning patio and delved into 3 incredible dishes paired with a delicious Strawberry Basil Mimosa and Shakerato. Here is a look at the delightful cuisine we tried:

I was most excited to try their exquisite Crispy Baby Octopus plated with olives, paprika, heirloom tomato confit, fresh parsley, in a delightful scallion purée.

All eyes on that pie! I loved the crisp yet thin crust of their delectable Brunch Pizza. The Brunch Pizza has savory pork sausage, roasted peppers, red onion, gooey mozzarella, thyme and playful topped with an egg.

| Uova in Camicia at Il Brutto |
I couldn\’t get enough of their wonderful Uova in Camicia (Italian for poached egg). The dish has thick bread topped with flavorful smoked salmon topped with the most perfect poached eggs, plated with heavenly burrata, grilled tomato and basil.
The house-made Limoncello is a refreshing way to end such an incredible dining experience. It makes for the perfect patio sipper. We had such an incredible dining experience and I cannot wait to join Il Brutto again soon for their stellar drink happy hour and dinner. And last pro tip: the restaurant validates parking.
