On Saturday, October 20th, dog lovers throughout central Texas will convene and show off their canine’s coiffure. Please join The Austin Facial Hair Club, Bully Ranch ATX and myself at The Little Darlin\’ for the 5th Annual Dog Beard and Moustache Competition Sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka!! I am excited to volunteer as a judge this year, please come buy, say hi and support the cause!
The Austin Facial Hair Club, The Little Darlin\’, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka are teaming up to raise funding and awareness for Bully Ranch, a refuge for pit bull and pit bull type dogs where they can receive rehabilitation, training, and ultimately become valued members of a loving, forever family. Tito’s will be donating $1 for every Tito’s Handmade Vodka cocktail sold at The Little Darlin’ that day (up to $500)!
Don\’t have a dog? Come join the party anyway! Doors open at noon. This family-friendly* event is Free to watch (donations also accepted) and $5 entry fee per category entered. You can enter your dog into as many categories as you like.
Dog doesn\’t have a beard? The AFHC has you covered. We\’ll have a craft table set up so you can create an awesome beard for your dog (and for you if you want).
CATEGORIES:
Dog & Owner Look-A-Like: Pet and owner must be similar in appearance, style, and attitude
Freestyle: Styled beard and moustache. Styling products permitted, any shape or color! Emphasis on creativity and complexity of design. Anything goes, and costumes are welcome.
Best Groomed: Neatest-looking, well-kept dog beard. Emphasis on symmetry, clean lines, and a neatness of the canine beard.
Gnarliest Beard: Wild-looking, gnarly dog beard! The wilder the better!
Sweetest Stache: The title says it all!
Old Timer: Has your dog become a curmudgeon, full of grey hair and living on a prayer? Give them one last hurrah by entering them here!
The Finale!
Best in Show: Winners of each category will go head-to-head to see who is the overall Best in Show! Audience participation will be a big factor in this decision.

We will also be registering walk up competitors before 3pm on the day of the event!
Registration begins onsite at 2pm and the competition will begin at 3pm.
We will have several Austin area animal charities and groups set up to share information about what they do, and we will also have craft vendors and an amazing raffle!
Live Music will begin around 7 PM after the competition is over and the winners are announced!
