Celebrated culinary talent Chef James Griffiths and Tamara Mayfield softly opened their brick and mortar this week. Over the past 8 years Dai Due has been a farmers market favorite and their popular pop up supper club has gained a loyal following. This dual purpose space will serve as both a butcher shop and restaurant. The butcher shop offers an extensive variety of hormone and antibiotic free quality meats to include steaks cut to order. Expect to find anything from beef, country ham, whole smoked chickens to game such as marinate venison chops all locally sourced within 50 miles.

The bright butcher shop opens up to the warm and handsome restaurant. While the space is very open the restaurant and butcher shop have their own distinct atmosphere. The dining room offers bar type seating facing the kitchen, a cozy bar, tables at the center and tall comfortable booths to the right.

The menu consists of an a la carte menu and a supper club menu. The menus will change frequently with the current a la carte menu starting at $4. The current supper club menu is $38/pp and offers a generously coursed pre fix menu served family style with choice of individual dessert. I look forward to returning on a Friday night when the menu moves to a seafood centric offering.
Beverages served include unique house made sodas, French presses using Cuvee Coffee, and a nice selection of Texas wines, ciders, beers.

I dined in during their soft opening and had a wonderful experience. From the the country ham, fresh tomato salad to the side of charred okra with tomatoes and refreshing prickly pear fruit sorbet for dessert our meal did not disappoint. My dining companion and I dined off the a la carte menu but after seeing the delicious plates of meat and other dishes off the family style supper club menu being served that is definitely the route to go if you have the appetite.

The Dai Due sign looks so welcoming! I like the modern layout of the butcher shop and the dining. Of course, the highlight would have to be the delicious looking dishes they serve.
