Oasthouse Gastropub |
Amir and Ali Hajimaleki, the brothers behind the District Kitchen + Cocktails, have opened yet another outstanding dining establishment. Oasthouse Gastropub opened in November and is already earning rave reviews. The menu showcases seasonal offerings, enticing desserts, creative cocktails, an exceptional wine list and a nice lineup of craft beers. I have dined at Oasthouse twice and each visit was an exceptional dining experience. Chef Amir is incredibly talented and his skills shine through with each brilliant dish.

Chocolate Espresso Pot de Creme at Oasthouse Gastropub |
Pastry Chef Dennis Van has also left quite the impression. Chocolate lovers will rejoice with Chef Van\’s velvety dark chocolate espresso pot de creme topped with black cherry compote, rich vanilla bean chantilly cream finished off beautifully with a dusting of espresso powder. I am also a huge fan of the savory berry tartlet made of a wonderful pate sucree crust, a delectable raspberry-vanilla bean pastry cream on the side, fresh blackberries, raspberries and fresh mint.

Spanish Octopus at Oasthouse Gastropub |
Each and every dish I have tasted at Oasthouse has been absolutely exceptional with the Spanish octopus being my favorite. The octopus is braised for two hours in Sofrito making for a perfectly tender and flavorful dish. The octopus is served on a bed of smoked paprika lemon aioli, plated with delicious sea salt potatoes and topped with frisée & fresh arugula.
Another favorite is the gorgeous gravlax made with beautifully flavored house-cured salmon, egg yolk, shallots, capers and a delightful lemon dill creme fraiche.

Cubano with Pork Belly & Pulled Pork at Oasthouse Gastropub |
The kitchen cures several of their meats in-house and the French fries are house-cut making the Cubano a must try. The decadent Cubano has sliced pork belly, savory pulled pork and topped with Swiss cheese, house-made pickles, a zesty mustard aioli on grilled sourdough served with their perfectly crisp house-cut fries.
We also recommend the IPA pork & spätzle with tender braised pork cheek that melts-in-your mouth, sweet potato spätzle, English peas, pickled onions & green tomatoes with a clever Bucket IPA glaze.

Roasted-Garlic + Tomato Flatbread at Oasthouse Gastropub |
Last week Oasthouse launched a happy hour menu which includes discounted select appetizers, craft beers, wines and hand crafted cocktails. The roasted garlic + tomato flatbread that is discounted during happy hour was a hit with garlic balsamic spread, farm tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, thai basil and a dense chewy flatbread.
