Eastside Cafe has been an Austin favorite since they opened their doors in 1988. The restaurant features a seasonal menu focused on farm fresh ingredients meets comfort food. The menu is approachable with something for every palate. Detail is evident from the well executed dishes to the meticulous plating. Part of Eastside Cafe\’s appeal is the sense that you are visiting a beloved close relative as you truly feel like a welcomed guest in the quant converted home.
Some of my favorite memories at Eastside Cafe are the many holidays I have spent with my husband and mother-in-law. We always arrive early to stroll the gorgeous grounds to include the lush gardens. We usually start off with their signature mimosa complete with edible flowers. While my visits have typically been limited to brunch during the holidays, I recently discovered they serve lunch throughout the week and have an enticing offer on Mondays. Mondays they offer 1/2 off bottles of wine.
If you like brie you will love the decadent Baked Brie with Apple Chutney. The Baked Brie cheese is topped with toasted almonds and pecans and served with apple chutney & toasted homemade yeast rolls.
The vibrant Artichoke Manicotti (center) has carrot pasta filled with artichoke hearts, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, pistachios, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese and topped with a savory sun-dried tomato cream sauce and Parmesan cheese.

Dumplings at Eastside Cafe |
The unique Salmon Dumplings topped with a yellow coconut curry served with Thai cucumber and peanut relish is my favorite appetizer on the menu!
On the lighter side you cannot go wrong with the Grilled Chicken Salad with Asian Vinaigrette. This salad has crisp Romaine and fresh green leaf lettuce, plump cherry tomatoes, carrots, red cabbage, Napa cabbage, cilantro and grilled marinated chicken topped with toasted peanuts and served with a house-made tangy Asian vinaigrette.
Be sure to check the features menu or you may miss out on their specials like these flavorful pulled pork tacos I enjoyed recently with sweet corn, mushrooms, creamy avocado and balanced with a spicy sauce on a bed of greens.
Whether you are enjoying a ladies night out, a first date, business lunch, brunch on Sunday Funday or celebrating with your special someone, dining at Eastside Cafe will will make it a memorable experience.
