Chi\’Lantro South Shore location officially opens today, Janauary 9th. Jae Kim and his team celebrated with two days of preview events on Janauary 6th and 7th in which guests enjoyed free food and drinks at the new location for a great cause. All donations during the event benefited charities to include Austin Animal Center. The South Shore location is the 4th Chi\’Lantro brick-and-mortar and currently the 5th location including the OG Chi\’Lantro BBQ food trailer. This is the first opening since Jae Kim\’s success on SharkTank that aired on November 11th, 2016.

Gorgeous Design By Kim Lewis

At the new location, customers are greeted by a gorgeous inviting patio while the dining room is equally welcoming. The gorgeous new restaurant was designed by the remarkably talented Kim Lewis. Upon stepping into the restaurant at front in center is the word \”Inspired\” beautifully written on a wall. To many that know Kim, this is incredibly fitting as Kim inspires so many with his success fueled by his hard work, determination and kindness.

The menu consists of the Original Kimchi Fries, Salad, Rice Bowls, Tacos, Noodle Bowls, a Burrito and notably Gangnam Wings. Guests may pick their entree, fill it up with items such as rice, Japchae Noodles and veggies, then sauce it up with their refreshing house made sauces. They also offer a kid\’s menu.

During the preview I tried Chi\’Lantro\’s amazing tacos and the delectable Gangnam Wings. The marinated meats of sirloin and spicy chicken in the tacos are beautifully flavored. I topped my tacos off with their kick\’n kimchi sauce.

The Original Kimchi Fries are what put Chi\’Lantro initially on the map making them a must try. The Kimchi Fries are a festival favorite and the ultimate comfort food.

When looking for lighter options, their salads with fresh veggies, flavorful proteins and variety of house made dressing are phenomenal.

The future is looking very bright for Chi\’Lantro as Kim plans for the expansion of his restaurants throughout Texas and beyond, with the first outside of Austin slated for Houston, TX.
