Happy Hour bites at Alcomar

Co-executive chefs Alma Alcocer (of El Alma) and Jeff Martinez (of El Chile) launched some exciting new happy hour features that are not to be missed. The duo have an incredible menu consisting of regional flavors, ingredients, and dishes from each of Mexico’s coastlines. The happy hour offerings are daily from 3pm-6pm. I dined in recently to get a taste of the vibrant happy hour offerings.

Here is a look at the vivacious menu items we sampled during our phenomenal dining experience:
Mango Chipotle Campechana at Alcomar

The stunning Mango Chipotle Campechana available on both happy hour and on the daily menu. This tantalizing dish has generous amounts of plump shrimp, scallop, crab, Mango, jicama and avocado served with refreshingly light yucca chips.
Flautitas at Alcomar
I loved the flavorful Flautitas featuring smoked corvina, salsa morita and encurtido.

Crispy Calamari at Alcomar

The Crispy Calamari at Alcomar is incredibly addicting! The tender rings are served with shallots, escabeche and pickled jalapeño tartar.

Tostada de Puerco
The Tostada de Puerco is the perfect comfort food. The crisp Tostada is topped with savory pork carnitas, salsa verde, pickled onions .
Oyster of the Week

Happy hour includes an oyster of the week served b the half dozen or dozen with all the accompaniments. 

Pepino Picoso at Alcomar
The Pepino Picoso at @alcomar_atx is my favorite margaritas! This frozen concoction has house cucumber-xalapeño purée with el Chile rim.

The daily happy hour at Alcomar is easily one of the best in town. A complete list of new happy hour additions includes:

Oyster of the Week – Half dozen or dozen 
Flautitas – Smoked corvina, salsa morita and encurtido 
Tostada de Puerco – Pork carnitas, salsa verde, pickled onions 
Tortita de Camarón – Bolillo, crispy shrimp, jalapeno slaw 
Queso de Espinaca – Queso blanco, spinach, grilled jalapeños & artichokes 
Crispy Calamari – shallots, escabeche and pickled jalapeno tartar
