Full Disclosure: I attended a complimentary dining experience at Aviary Wine & Kitchen. All opinions are my own.
Marco Fiorilo and John Coronado transformed Aviary from a quirky boutique and wine bar into a charming full service restaurant. The welcoming restaurant has an exceptional wine list curated by beverage director Alex Wheatly Bell, well orchestrated menu with Executive Chef Thomas Calhoun leading the kitchen set in a comfortable relaxing atmosphere. The menu fluidly and beautifully incorporates worldly flavors that will delight your taste buds. I found Aviary Wine & Kitchen to be fine dining sans any form of pretentiousness. The team has cultivated an atmosphere where guests happily linger after an exceptional meal to enjoy champagne and dessert.
I dined in recently with a group of amazing ladies and thoroughly enjoyed each dish, sip of wine and convo we shared. Here is a look at the captivating dishes we experienced:
 |
Oysers at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
The raw bar serves thoughtfully sourced offerings of oysters in the half shell served with mignonette, horseradish and lemon.
 |
Mussels at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
The aromatic Mussels in a white wine, garlic and saffron broth are an absolutely must try.
 |
Chicken Mousse at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
The palatable Chicken Liver Mousse served with house brioche and fruit preserves is a great start to any meal.
 |
Grains Salad at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
I enjoy a good grains bowl and the Grains Salad at
@aviarywinekitchen tops my list! This light delicious dish is a splendid mix of wheatberry, couscous, harissa yogurt, cucumber and winter vegetables.
 |
Texas Beef at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
The Texas Beef entree melts in yo mouth! The dish is a generous portion of Texas beef prepared sous vide, grilled and plated with schug, turnip butter and onion jus.
 |
Lamb Burger at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
The popular Lamb Burger is topped with schug aioli, arugula on a house bun served with picked cucumber.
 |
Parisian Gnocchi at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
The Parisian Gnocchi with sweet potato, pork belly, sage and feta is easily the best gnocchi I have tasted. The sweet potato and sage adds comforting winter flavors that guests will love. Pictured is fellow blogger Jenny of
Vino Pourfavor.
 |
H.M. Pappardelle at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
H.M. Pappardelle with tender short rib, savory braising jus topped with pecorino is comfort food at its best.
 |
The Louvre at Aviary Wine & Kitchen |
When dining at Aviary Wine & Kitchen, do make sure to save room for dessert or a meat/cheese board paired with bubbles. The Louvre is a mouthwatering charcuterie and cheese board with house made pickles and preserves.
Notably Aviary Wine & Kitchen has an excellent happy hour 2pm-6pm Tuesday through Saturday.
