Sway Thai Now Open at Domain NORTHSIDE

Full Disclosure: I attended a complimentary friends and family dining experience at Sway Thai. All opinions are my own.

The wait is over north Austin, Sway Domain NORTHSIDE is now open! The north Austin location is currently open for dinner from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday to Wednesday and 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday to Saturday.
We had the opportunity to dine in last week during the friends and family preview night and are simply blown away with the gorgeous new restaurant. We were greeted by their signature neon lotus flower and the customized look and touches of Austin-based Michael Hsu.  The new Sway location has similar features to the first location with handsome wooden communal tables, a welcoming bar/lounge and basket light fixtures as well as an open kitchen and window ledge with bar seating. The restaurant has a 20-seat bar, plus high top tables for group happy hours and tastings. There is also patio seating surrounded by custom planters and lush foliage creating an oasis on Rock Rose.
Here is a look at the stunning interior, some refreshing new cocktails and some of our favorite dishes we tried at Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE:

Magnolia City with Love Cocktail Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE
When purchasing the ravishing Magnolia City With Love cocktail, Sway will donate $2 for each drink purchase to the Harvey Relief Fund. The summery pink concoction is the perfect blend of of rum, lychee, fresh orange garnished with cherry. It is available for $10 or share with your friends punch style for $40.
Emporer Cocktail Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE
The delightful Emperor cocktail has whiskey, aperol, lemon and chai. We loved the hit of spice from the chai which paired nicely with the smooth bourbon.
Half Dozen Oysters at Sway Domain NORTHSIDE
Their is a raw bar build into the kitchen bar and when we dined in it was filled with oysters. I knew this was the best way to start off our culinary experience at Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE.
Tiger Cry Dish Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE
Tiger Cry Dish Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE
Tiger Cry may not be new but it is a crowd favorite and is at the top of my list! Tiger Cry has perfectly char-grilled hanger steak, plated with red chili nahm jim (dipping sauce), Fresno chili, nahm prik pao (Thai chili paste), toasted rice, and Thai Basil. I love the aromatic Thai basil and each flavor perfectly compliments each other. And bonus, this dish is gluten free!
Jungle Curry a Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE
Jungle Curry is the perfect example of how seamlessly Sway Thai blends Thai flavors with Texas flair. Jungle Curry has melt-in-yo-mouth Texas Wagyu brisket in a red chili curry, baby corn, eggplant, peppercorn, basil  and a delightful coconut cream. Pro tip, this dish is spicy. Blend the coconut cream into the sauce for a milder taste and creamy texture.
Miso-White Chocolate Semifreddo Dessert at Sway Thai Domain NORTHSIDE
I don\’t always do desserts but at Sway it is a must! The artfully plated, elegantly constructed and marriage of exciting flavors is true perfection. Pictured is the incredible Miso-White Chocolate Semifreddo (meaning semi frozen) dessert with sesame, crispy rice, coconut sticky rice and mango-calamansi sorbet. Oh my goodness, the burst of bright flavors from the sorbet paired with savory notes of sesame and hint of sweetness from the sticky rice, this is simply a must order dish.
Special to the North Austin location will be à la carte moo sway, a Thai-style pork shoulder that serves 2-3 guests. I look forward to trying this wonderful dish on our next visit.
