Soto South Lamar Debuts Lunch Service

I was ecstatic when Chef Andy Okamoto reached out this week to let me know that Soto South Lamar would be launching lunch service starting February 1st! Naturally, I cleared my calendar and joined a friend for their first lunch service. The South Lamar location opened October 27th, 2017 at Lamar Union. Like their North Austin location, Soto South Lamar quickly became a neighborhood gem and earned a reputation as a dining hotspot. The lunch atmosphere at Soto is perfect for a business lunch, an office outing, a place to catch up with your crew or a lunch date with some of the best sushi and hospitality in town.

Lunch service is Friday through Sunday from 11 AM – 3PM however they will be closed for Super Bowl Sunday. Expect starters like Truffle Sashimi & Chicken Karage, generous Shokado Lunch, entrees like creamy Tonkotsu Ramen & gorgeous Barachirashi, and a mouthwatering variety of sushi/sashimi offered a la carte. Sushi & Sashimi Shokado Lunch is one of my favorite lunch offerings! If you like to graze on a variety of delicious bites, this is the dish for you. It is the perfect plate of 8 delightful dishes of mouthwatering salmon & tuna sashimi, madai and hamachi nigiri, pepper salmon with kickin jalapeno sauce, chili hamachi, rock shrimp, harumaki in an addicting sauce, tender roast beef and choice of sushi roll (we opted for tuna). Both the Sushi & Sashimi Shokado and the Choice Maki Shokado Lunches come with miso soup and side salad served with a zesty ginger dressing. 

I was captivated as a Chef\’s Board of beautiful sushi arrived at our table. We delved into a variety of extraordinary nigiri & sashimi of Hokkaido Uni, Tuna O-Toro, Hotate, Aji and more. 

We ended things on a sweet note with a refreshing and light shaved ice dessert. It was the perfect punctuation to the most wonderful dining experiences. 

The menu also has ramen offerings, amazing appetizers both cooked and raw, as well as the stunning Barachirashi. Walk-ins are welcomed and reservations may be made here.
