Sweat Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

For the month of October we are highlighting businesses that are giving back with special classes benefiting and bringing awareness to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The reality is that 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Love ya\’ll so pretty please self-test, learn the symptoms/signs and make those mammogram appointments. Let\’s band together to make  a difference. I hope to see you in class!

Tap Backs for Ta Tas is happening Saturday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. at LOVE Cycling Studio with beloved instructor Bryan Gonzales. Beverly Gonzales, mother of LOVE instructor Bryan Gonzales, was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer during a routine mammogram in April of 2015. Thanks to early detection, most of the cancer was removed via lumpectomy shortly thereafter. She then underwent 12 rounds of chemo and 28 radiation treatments before being declared cancer free in July of 2016. Now, Beverly wants to encourage other women to get regular screenings in hopes of early detection. Her son, Bryan wanted to support her initiative and offered to host a fundraising spin class at LOVE Cycling Studio to spread her message of awareness.

Each bike booked in the 10:30 a.m. class on Sunday, October 20 will benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, an independent, nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. 

At the end of class, Outdoor Voices will raffle off a pink exercise kit for one lucky attendee, and all riders will go home with a special OV gift. Also a post-workout happy hour will offer complimentary pink cocktails made with cold-pressed juice from Juiceland and FIX Vodka, an all new high-alkaline vodka made from organic corn and high-PH, pure Texas aquifer water. For more mild imbibers, there will be cold (pink) cans of Strawberry Raspberry Redbud, Independence Brewing Co.’s fall Seasonal Berliner Weisse, and Austin Eastcider’s Rosé Cider.
