Dolce Neve East Austin

East Austin just got sweeter! Dolce Neve is now scooping their beloved gelato in east Austin. The shiny new gelato location of Dolce Neve opened January 21st in the poppin Plaza Saltillo development.

Dolce Neve gave me my very first taste of gelato way back before their brick-and-mortar days, when they served their delightful gelato from their catering cart. They had me enamored with their lively personality and passion for bringing the flavors of Italian gelato made here locally.

I stopped in during their soft opening and returned opening weekend to take in their beautiful new space. The enticing Oat Milk, Maple Syrup, Pecan (v) and the Mascarpone Matcha are two of the flavors that I devoured! The east Austin location serves their handmade gelato Austinites know and love from Dolce Neve\’s popular South 1st Street location, including gelato pops and sandwiches and sorbet. Dolce Neve, my first gelato experience, makes the most delightful handcrafted gelato and sorbet using traditional Italian techniques and machineries and features 12 fabulous flavors daily. Gelato flavors include traditional Italian offerings like like organic hazelnut and stracciatella (chocolate chip) and non-traditional flavors such as mascarpone & matcha and fromage blanc with apricot.
Dolce Neve boasts being the only store in Austin and Houston that produces gelato in-house, applying the Italian artisanal production technique of “mantecazione verticale” with gelatos containing only natural ingredients from local farms and the best international producers. The “mantecazione verticale” technique takes a little longer, but the vertical batch freezer incorporates air in a natural way, which creates a creamier consistency.
