Kawa Asian Kitchen opened in Steiner Ranch at the end of August bringing a variety of Asian cuisine to the area. There is another fantastic Asian restaurant nearby Cho.
Kawa Asian Kitchen did an amazing job at both revamping the space with a large sushi bar while keeping the aesthetic colors and comfortable atmosphere of the former Fion. They also have a patio perfect for the cooler Texas fall weather.
When I walked in I instantly recognized one of the employees Rama from Dragons Gate off of Capital of Texas Hwy. I opted to sit at the sushi bar but if I was here with a group of people I would choose the comfortable booth window seating. They have a daily happy hour running 3pm-6pm with discounted drinks, appetizers and rolls.
I asked Rama what was new on the menu and he pointed out some new menu items and made some great suggestions. Soon as he mentioned the \”WuTang Roll\” I was intrigued. This roll description is as follows: \”WuTang roll ain\’t nothing to mess with. Spicy yellowtail, cilantro, topped with escolar and yuzu sauce. Finished with jalapeno and sriracha. The ruckus here.\” Umm yes please! The roll had a hint of citrus along with the escolar complimented the heat of the sriracha and jalapeno.
In addition to a large selection of sushi they also serve Chinese food and you can place to go orders.
