After several months of remodeling, the former Austin Diner location has transformed into Lucy\’s Fried Chicken second location.

The casual restaurant specializes not only in crispy fried chicken but they also serve baked oysters, fried appetizers and delicious pies.

They have a full bar with local drafts, a decent selection of beers by the bottle and can, wines, creative cocktails and brunchtails. They offer daily drink specials which includes discounted flavored mimosas and their signature bloody Mary which is a meal unto itself. I enjoyed a light and refreshing watermelon mimosa perfect for sipping on their covered patio in the summer.

During my first visit to Lucy\’s I opted for the \”Austin\” oysters served in the half shell marinating in tequila and lime juice and garnished with spicy chili sauce and melted cojito cheese.

They have seating at the bar and a few four tops but the seating both inside and on the patio is primarily communal.

When you come bring some dollars for the killer jukebox and check out their interesting poster collection.
I was impressed with their well executed opening day. Notably Lucy\’s is walking distance from Ginny\’s Little Longhorn Saloon making it the perfect stop before or after chicken shit bingo on a Sunday. Welcome to Burnet Lucy\’s, you fit right!
