PS 35 Tossing New York City Pizza Now Open

PS 35 promises cold beer, a place to boogie and all around good times. The restaurant opened their doors late May in the gorgeously remodeled space in Round Rock… just south of the hot tub dealer. The restaurant is spacious with a fun atmosphere making it great for families, large parties and for date night. The design is 70s industrial with a NY subway meets school feel to it. The menu consists of playfully named enticing starters, fresh salads, hearty sandwiches, baked pastas, 18 inch pies and delectable desserts. Equally impressive is their thoughtful bar program with an all star Texas lineup of craft beers, a fabulous wine selection and  frozen cocktails. The frozen cocktails are sure to delight during the Texas summer heat and are perfect for enjoying on the welcoming patio. They are maximizing the covered patio with games, live music and movie nights.

Fans of the 40 North food trailer will be happy to see what Chef Clint Elmore has brought to the menu of PS 35. We dined in during a media tasting and were delighted with menu items we tried to include Truffled Parmesan Tots, Loaded Pizza Tots, Spinach Salad and \”The Don Ho\” pizza. Here is a first look:

We started off with the incredibly addictive Truffled Parmesan Tots. These perfectly golden tots are a must try! The savory Loaded Pizza Tots topped with zesty marinara, creamy Mozzarella, pepperoni, house-made sausage and Grana Padano.

Spinach

On the lighter side the fresh salads at PS 35 are wonderful! The spinach salad has all my favorite toppings to include Gorgonzola, crisp green apple, pomegranate seeds, fried shallot, candied walnuts and a delightful sherry-dijon vinaigrette.

The Hot Honey Pizza at PS 35

The salads and apps don\’t get to have all the fun, the pizzas here are a must try! The Hot Honey pizza was all the rage at the media tasting be we ultimately decided to try \”The Don Ho\”. This gorgeous pizza has sweet pineapple, pancetta, Grana Padano, Mozzarella, Fresno chilies and aromatic Thai basil on their perfectly crisp dough.

I loved everything we had at PS 35 and my only regret was not having room to try the Nonna\’s Spaghetti-Os, The \”Dr J\” pizza with ribeye drizzled in Cheez Whiz, and the rum soaked Tiramisu.
