District Kitchen Now Open on Anderson Lane

If you live in North Austin and the surrounding area you will be excited to hear the team behind Austin\’s beloved restaurant District Bar + Kitchen located in Circle C opened their third restaurant and second District location in North Austin! Ali and Amir Hajimaleki opened the District Anderson Lane in the former Suzi\’s China Grill space on April 14th. Chef Amir Hajimaleki and Chef de Cuisine MacKenzie Viglianco oversee the sensational menu from both land and sea that is a pure delight. You will also find Executive Pastry Chef Dennis Van\’s incredible creations on the menu. Notably, Chef Amir and Chef Dennis won their episode of Sugar Rush a Netflix food competition that debuted July 13th of last year.
I dined at the new District Kitchen location once during opening week and returned to celebrate their grand opening on May 23rd with live music, specials and more. Our first visit we dined in on their handsome dining room and we made our way through the 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙮 Raw Bar:
District Kitchen Anderson Lane – Scallop Ceviche
Scallop Ceviche is a blissful dish of day boat scallop, jicama, mango, pickled Fresno pepper, mango vinegar, Texas olive oil, buttered saltine crumble.
King Crab + Avocado at District Anderson Lane
The majestically presented King Crab + Avocado was our favorite dish with poached King Crab, yuzu aioli, avocado, cucumber, celery and masago.
Hamachi Crudo at District Anderson Lane

We always order hamachi when it is on the menu and their Hamachi Crudo did not disappoint. The Crudo has an interesting flavor profile with pickled grilled pineapple, golden beet citrus marinade, cucumber, Fresno pepper and cilantro.
Tuna Poke at District Anderson Lane

The delightful Tuna Poke, which may also be found at their sister restaurant Oasthouse, is my go to order. This light Hawaiian big eye tuna, poke sauce, cucumber, red onion, avocado and house made taro chips.
District Anderson Patio
During the grand opening, they had live music on their welcoming patio. We loved the atmosphere and while it is warming up outside, the patio is equipped with misting fans and large umbrellas.
Steak Tartare at District Anderson Lane

The Steak Tartare was one of the evening starter features and I couldn\’t resist! This dish has hand-cut wagyu steak, Dijon caper sauce, rich cured egg yolk, cracked pepper and grilled miche bread, the perfect compliment.
Shrimp + Avocado at District Anderson Lane

Shrimp + Avocado dish is truly the perfect summery bite. The refreshing dish has plump poached shrimp, thinly sliced salt cured cucumber, grape tomato and jicama paired with their house made taro chips.
Side Salad at District Anderson Lane

Guests may add this splendid salad with rustic house made croutons to any entree for $4.95.

Scallops Risotto at District Anderson Lane

We ordered the impeccable seared Scallops with a mint pea Risotto which beautifully showcases the District team\’s creativity.

I remember the first time I met Chef Amir in 2014 when he was consulting with a local restaurant and assisting them with a revamp of their menu. It was during that introduction that I quickly understood the person Chef Amir is: passionate, talented and kind. Later I would learn of his philanthropy and that he is a mentor to those that will also put in the hard work. Thank you for being part of and shaping our amazing community Chef.
