Xian Noodles and Sushi recently opened their second location in North Austin. They took over the space that was formerly Momiiji\’s and did an incredible job remodeling the interior. The ambiance is very bright and zen. The restaurant has booth seating, communal seating and a sushi bar that sits eight guests.

Ruby Tuna at Xian Sushi and Noodles |
After two visits I have quickly become a fan of their happy hour. Happy hour is offered Monday-Saturday from 5pm-7pm, reverse happy hour 8:30pm-10pm and all day on Sundays. I have tried a variety of items from their cold appetizer and sushi sections of the happy hour. The ruby tuna is a splendid mix of seared peppered tuna wrapped cucumber and crab salad topped with mango sauce on a bed of ponzu and seaweed salad.

Yellowtail Jalapeno sashimi at Xian Sushi and Noodles |
The yellowtail jalapeno is delicate cuts of buttery hamachi with a hint of ponzu topped with fresh jalapeno with a touch of pepper sauce. All the cold appetizers are a steal at $5 each.

Albacore Nigiri at Xian Sushi and Noddles |
The happy hour offers a selection of sushi, your choice of sashimi or nigiri. My favorite so far is the perfect cut of tender albacore tuna garnished with microgreens.

1/2 order of the Mango Lover\’s Roll at Xian Sushi and Noodles |
The specialty rolls can be ordered as a full roll or 1/2 order (5 pieces instead of 8) at a reduced price. I like this option as it allows my small appetite to try more menu items! This brightly colored roll is the mango lovers roll. It has fresh salmon and avocado inside, wrapped with delicious mango and has a hint of citrus from the yuzu tobiko.

Beef Hand-Pulled Noodles at Xian Sushi and Noodles |
While the sushi is good at Xian the hand-pulled noodles are incredible! The house-made noodles are the perfect texture and flavor. We tried the beef hand-pulled noodles served in a fragrant beef broth with white radish, spicy red chili oil, green leeks and cilantro. This dish is the ultimate comfort food.
I love the atmosphere at Xian, the service is both quick and friendly the food excellent. This is the place to take care of your noodle cravings in Northwest Austin and a great option for happy hour.

Sushi!! I am very fond of sushi. I am living in San Francisco and must say San Francisco restaurants make very delicious sushi. I have tried sushi at many places as I travel a lot but never found something similar which is offered here.
